the Ship Abercrombie Robinson, Robert Scott Com der, hov: 22nd 1839. Served on board the Cutter during the whole of the operations in the Canton River; was prevent at the taking of Chumper and the Bogue Forts, the first and

second capture of Canton, was off the British Factones on the night that the enemy & bum the British squadron, then lying in the River.

During these operations the Louisa was riminally leader to the Naval com der in chief, Admiral Elliot, and afterwants ĥ Commodore Sir Gordon Bremer, though principally engaged in the despatch service of H. 8. (aft" Elliot, H. M. Plenipotention, and Chief Superintendent of Trade in China.

The undersigned was on board the Louisa with N. E. Capt. Elliot, and Commodore Sir Gordon Bremer, in the Zyphoon of the 21st July, 1841, when she was totally wrecked, and remained prisoner in the hands of the Chinese until ransomed : this caused the undersigned severe attack of fever, and considerable expense at Macas.
